CBR's CellAdvantage® System Saves Up to 2X More Cord Blood Cells for Your Family*

CBR's Superior Cell Recovery Rates GraphWith CBR's CellAdvantage® system, every detail of CBR's process has been diligently selected because it is the best technology available for collecting, processing, and storing your newborn's priceless stem cells. Our goal is to collect the highest volume of cord blood and to save the greatest number of cells for your family's future use. Having more cells for treatment is important as it can increase survival in transplant, or can offer the chance for multiple uses in regenerative medicine.3

Step 1. Cord Blood Collection: CBR's Superior Collection Kits

Your CBR Collection Kit contains everything your healthcare provider will need to easily and safely collect your newborn's stem cells following vaginal or cesarean birth. Collection poses no risk to you or your baby, and your normal birthing process will not change. After the umbilical cord has been clamped and cut, your doctor or midwife will collect the blood remaining in the cord using CBR's proprietary CellAdvantage cord blood collection bag.

CBR’s Exclusive CellAdvantage Collection Kit is designed to collect up to 30% more cord blood. The CellAdvantage Collection Kit includes several unique features.

  • CBR's new and innovative cord blood collection bag features a unique chamber designed to give your healthcare provider control to collect the highest volume of cord blood - up to 30% more - and clear visibility of blood flow to remove the risk of ending the collection too soon. • CBR's proprietary dry heparin anticoagulant, which helps preserve the cord blood during transport to the lab, improves our ability to recover every stem cell possible for your child, regardless of the collection volume. Heparin is well suited for family banking, where blood volumes vary greatly, because it works over a wide range of volumes. As it is found naturally in the human body, heparin is ideal for protecting cells and has been safely used for decades. Compared to liquid CPD, a commonly used anticoagulant, CBR's dry heparin helps recover up to 73% more cells for your family.

  • CBR's ultra-safe kits are sterile and are designed and built to the latest FDA and OSHA standards. These specialized kits fold into a crush-resistant cube that reduces the risk of damage that can occur during shipment to our laboratory and contain high-density foam that helps stabilize temperature during shipping.

After the collection, CBR's convenient One-Step Shipping® prearranges a courier pick-up from your hospital with just one phone call. Real-time tracking to our lab in Arizona ensures the fastest delivery in the industry, which is important for maximum cell viability. Our laboratory is actively processing cord blood samples 20 hours a day, 365 days per year, so when your sample arrives, it is promptly processed.

Step 2 Processing: FDA-Cleared Technology

Cord blood is processed to remove excess red blood cells in order to store a higher concentration of stem cells and to reduce risks when used in treatment.

  • CBR processes cord blood with FDA-cleared - technology, called the AXPTM AutoXpressTM Platform, which, when combined with CBR's proprietary dry heparin, delivers the highest published cell recovery rate in the industry — 99%.1 Other processing methods like Sepax® and Hespan® have been shown to recover only 81% of cells.4,5

Step 3 Storage: FDA-Cleared Storage Bags

From collection to storage, CBR takes every step possible to ensure the long-term safety and viability of your newborn's stem cells. Experts have found no indication that cord blood stem cells will expire if they are properly processed and stored. In fact, all research indicates that these cells can be stored indefinitely.6

  • CBR is the only family bank to offer storage in FDA-cleared, seamless storage bags. Seamless bags are designed to be inherently stronger than seamed bags, which are commonly used in the industry. In standard bags, seams are created along the edges of the bag and form potential points of weakness — especially for storage in extreme cold. Additionally, our bags have multiple compartments in order to allow for the flexibility of using the cells for more than one treatment.
