About the Opportunity
Cord Blood Registry, the world’s largest family cord blood stem cell bank, has processed and stored stem cells for more than 260,000 newborns. With over 100 samples released for use in transplants -- 40 in 2008 alone -- CBR leads the industry in the number of samples being used by the world’s leading transplant institutions. Our Receiving and Records Technicians are responsible for the receipt and triage of each life-saving sample that arrives at CBR, while adhering to the strictest standards.The Service

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned duties in accordance with internal Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each cord blood sample and assure client confidentiality.
- Queue cord blood samples for processing.
- Track incoming kits and follow up on delays.
- Interface with CBR’s San Bruno office as needed.
- Perform data entry and update client database records as required and maintain accurate information.
- Prepare maternal blood samples for shipping to the testing laboratory.
- File client documents in accordance with department procedures.
Education and Training
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Comfortable and efficient working with computer databases.
- One or more years of related experience.
Additional Requirements
- Able to operate and maintain standard office equipment.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully in oral and written form
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate accurate computer input and retrieval skills.
- Ability to review paperwork for accuracy and completeness and compliance with applicable standards and regulation.
